The first of its kind, the Carbon Fiber M-RAC Suppressor Shield is designed to provide unparalleled performance and protection for your suppressor and the operator. The M-RAC 3.1 is even lighter and stronger than its predecessors. This ensures that the M-RAC is one of the lightest and most robust suppressor cover solutions on the market.
Our latest design update (3.1) addresses the need for additional rail space on shorter platforms. We answered this call by redesigning our suppressor shield mounting tabs to act as a traditional M-LOK threaded backing, thereby allowing you to mount a variety of lights, mounts, slings, and other accessories directly to the M-RAC hardware (see photo gallery).
Before the M-RAC, military and law enforcement personnel faced extreme heat and potential burns from suppressors. Fabric wraps, while offering some protection, trap heat, keeping it hotter than necessary for upwards of an hour. MODTAC solved this unforeseen problem by introducing a rigid, free-floating design that insulates the suppressor with an air gap, promoting airflow for faster cool-down times.
The M-RAC also features an industry-first quick-disconnect system that securely holds the shield in place and remains solid even under full-auto fire. Utilizing a lightweight aluminum coupler and a high temp carbon fiber outer hull, the M-RAC is not just a first line of defense but a natural extension of your firearm, ensuring quick, precise operational efficiency in the harshest of conditions.

The Suppressor Shield with Modular Rail Attach Coupler (M-RAC) are primarily designed for government contracts. M-RAC systems are compatible with ONLY certain MLOK forearms (listed above)

The MLOK mounting tabs are machined specifically for each of these rails, and are not cross compatible with other similar rails. while they may work on some other brands, we do not guarantee any fitment.

    – High Temperature resin can withstand suppressor temperatures of up to 1,200°F.
    – Filament wound carbon fiber provides unparalleled rigidity/strength to weight ratio.
    – Carbon Fiber’s low thermal transfer rate, protects the operator and equipment.
    – Cerakote coating provides a long-lasting, durable surface.

Hardware
     – 6061 Anodized Aluminum hardware provides a strong, light coupler.

Can you make a custom M-RAC for my rail?

Generally, no. Unless a large quantity is ordered, we cannot make custom, one-off couplers. M-RAC Suppressor Shields are primarily designed for MIL/LEO contracts. If you’re an agency looking for compatibility with your rails, reach via our contact page.

What is a suppressor shield?

The materials and design of the MODTAC Suppressor Shields provide a solidly mounted, rigid shield that eliminates mirage, reduces the chance of incidental contact burns on personnel and equipment, as well as allows the suppressor to cool naturally, prolonging the life of your suppressor and your gear.

Are Suppressor Shields different than suppressor wraps?

Yes, Suppressor Shields are a rail mounted, rigid, and free floating design which does not retain heat inside of the suppressor, unlike a suppressor wrap.

Temperature testing was conducted independently by SFARTAEC Instructors at Ft. Bragg, NC. Equipment: US Army M4 / URGI (11.5″) 5.56mm NATO, Geissele Rail, Surefire SOCOM Suppressor, MODTAC M-RAC Suppressor Shield 2.0

Course of Fire was 10 rounds per minute for 9 minutes (3 mags) totaling 90 rounds, followed by monitoring of temperatures during cool down cycle.
